


Hyundai Construction Equipment is responsible for the design and manufacture of the forklifts and excavators using hydrogen fuel cell system and will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the developed construction machinery. In particular, strengthening the cooperation with Hyundai Construction Equipment, which has more than 540 dealer networks in 140 countries and overseas subsidiaries in the United States, Europe, China, India, Brazil, and Indonesia, will definitely expand the use of hydrogen energy in the global construction equipment market beyond Korea. With this cooperation between the companies, the use of hydrogen energy in the construction machinery sector is expected to now accelerate further. After the demonstration test, the companies will commercially launch the forklifts and excavators by 2023. The three companies are planning to create prototypes of hydrogen fuel cell excavators and hydrogen fuel cell forklifts and demonstrate them by 2021. Together they signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the main contents of joint development of fuel cell construction equipment.
